This vest has been with us on every overseas trip for the past year. Renting car seats abroad is unreliable and expensive. The RideSafer fits in my handbag and my daughter puts it on like a regular vest. STP-approved gives me complete peace of mind driving in Singapore too.
The upgrade from GEN4 to GEN5 is noticeable better velcro, adjustable fit, and the neoprene tether hook covers are a smart touch. These are the kind of small details that show the manufacturer actually listens to parents!
Quite a good investment for school runs when we carpool with our neighbors. It takes up zero cabin space compared to standard seats. It does take a bit of time to adjust all the Velcro and straps to get the perfect fit the first time, but once you get the hang of it, clipping the seat belt in is quite fast. Just note that since there is no neck pillow included, if your kid falls asleep in the car, their head might droop a bit. Still, a very solid and safe product.
